GoalsWork packages
Work packages are organized to ultimately create a proof-of-concept platform at the end of the project, and this will be used to prototype key challenges of the Ultra Broadband Home Network. Initially, work in WP1 will examine particular scenarios and requirements. These will be fed into the hardware work packages (WP2, WP3, WP4 and WP5) in order to define functional specifications. WP6 is concerned with the interface between the OMEGA network with the access network, and how continuity will be maintained. Results from this WP will also feed into the technical work packages. In WP2, WP3, WP4 and WP5 the aim is to produce proof-of-concept hardware. In WP5 the technology independent convergence layer will be implemented, and WP7 is concerned with integrating the proof of concept optical, RF and powerline systems with the Inter-MAC hardware.
