Agenda Day 2 - Workshop and Demonstrations
Rennes, 25 February 2010
Draft agenda
08:30 - 09:00 Arrival of participants, on-site registration
09:00 - 09: 15 Welcome, introduction and logistics
Jean-Philippe Javaudin, OMEGA coordinator, Orange Labs, France
09:15 - 10:30 Session 1: Middleware and the inter-MAC layer
This session provides an overview of the UPnP-QoS standard for home networks.
The adoption of a standard for the QoS setup of the traffic streams is a desirable
solution, because it increases interoperability among devices. The UPnP-QoS framework
is designed to be a standard specification for QoS setup of traffic streams to be
executed in single IP subnets. In addition, the session illustrates the advantages that
can be achieved through the integration and cooperation between UPnP-QoS and the
Inter-MAC layer.
09:15 - 09:30 UPnP-QoS in Home Networks

CO2 reduction is one of the grand challenges society is faced with. The digital home is
an essential part of the future end user and therefore is facing challenges of the green
ICT. After presenting ongoing intiatives, this talk will derive a preliminary vision for the
future sustainable home. More specific requirements and research roadblocks will be
listed in terms of connectivities, networks and experience.
