First OMEGA Open Event in Rennes

International experts discussed the future of home networking

From 5 to 6 February 2009, OMEGA held its first Open Event. About 80 home networking experts from Europe and Japan participated in the event, which presented the state-of-the-art on home networking technologies and OMEGA's technological concepts.

The Open Event focused on four main topics: radio, Power Line Communication (PLC), Wireless Optics, and Inter-Mac. Besides the presentations from the project, there were keynote presentations on the area of plastic optical fibre (POF) and the home networking situation in Japan.
